Vincke and Verstuyft are one of the best detective teams of the Antwerp police force. When they are confronted with the disappearance of a top official and the murder of two prostitutes, the trail leads to the almost retired assassin Angelo Ledda. Since Ledda starts showing symptoms of Alzheimer's, it's getting more and more difficult to complete his contracts. When he has to murder a 12-year old call-girl, he refuses and becomes a target himself. While Vincke and Verstuyft are chasing him and counting the corpses, Ledda is taking care of his employers. Vincke and Verstuyft are the best detectives of the Antwerp police department. They are confronted with the murder on a leading executive and put all their effort to catch the murderer. I couldn't believe one person in a small country like Belgium was able to create such a piece of Art. After I saw the movie, I wanted to go back in the theater and see the movie again. With just a handful of good actors in this tiny country, Erik Van Looy succeeded in his effort to make an excellent movie. This picture is ready to conquer the world. With a small budget (in comparison of Hollywood) the director managed the create of a movie with suspense, action and above all, a good plot. Great performance of all the actors. Great plot, great story. If all Belgian movies evolve like this one, the future looks great for the Belgian film industry. Hendrik Conscience learned people to read, Erik Van Looy learned Belgium to make movies. This is simply the best Belgian action movie till now. Lots of ideas, camera angles and visual effects have been copied from Hollywood-movies, but that's exactly what makes this movie so stunning. "The Alzheimer Case" might not be as breathtaking as Seven or The Silence of the Lambs, but it gets close to both titles, which is quite remarkable for a movie made in such a small country. Although comparisons to the memory-challenged machinations of "Memento" are inevitable, the plotting here takes a more traditionally linear path.
