SPOILER: Orphan Black follows outsider, orphan and street-wise chameleon Sarah. After witnessing a woman's suicide, Sarah assumes the stranger's identity - who happens to look just like her. Expecting to solve all her problems by cleaning out the dead woman's savings, Sarah is instead thrust headlong into a kaleidoscopic mystery as she realizes the dizzying truth - she and the dead woman are clones. As Sarah searches for answers, she discovers the chilling fact that there are more people like her out there - genetically identical individuals who were planted in unsuspecting birth parents and nurtured in completely different circumstances. With no idea who created the clones, she'll need to discover the reason in a hurry as an assassin is killing them one by one. A woman, Sarah Manning, spots her doppelganger on a station platform. The double then commits suicide by jumping in front of a train. Sensing an opportunity, Manning takes on the deceased woman's identity. However, she soon discovers that the doppelganger is not just a once-off and the more she investigates this strange occurrence, the more dangerous it gets….. By no means is this show in the same league as 'Breaking Bad' or any of a number of excellent HBO/ Starz/ even other BBC shows. A 6/10 for me. Find the set-up and plot line (at times) amateurish. Maslany does exhibit serious acting chops, some of the other actors also put up a creditable show. The premise is interesting, the tone is still a little unsure (may get better as the series progresses). I guess, with girl-empowerment and them kicking butt the current du jour, this has its followers. Too much fluff for me. I don't hate it. I'll probably stop watching shortly…. there are way better shows (Fargo, anyone?) that need my attention. All my friends watched the show and spoke very highly of it, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I was hooked immediately. The general idea behind the show is brilliant, the characters are -albeit a little over-the-top at times, but I'm guessing that's to make a point in the whole nature vs nurture discussion- intriguing and generally quite easy to like.

However, after about five episodes, I found myself wanting to punch either the writers or almost all of the characters. Stupid decisions, characters making the same mistakes over and over again as well as downright idiotic or nonsensical plot twists almost made me quit watching. I did end up finishing the first (and so far, only) season, but the final episode was just… infuriating. There are only so many times you can add a plot twist or throw in a complication. In Orphan Black, they definitely reached that limit- and then some.

The acting's brilliant, though, as is the cinematography, soundtrack and editing.
Mrs. S: "You know, undocumented, outside the system."

It can also refer to the fact that the clone project to which all of them belong to is considered an 'orphan'. Leekie explained in Season 2 that the research, files and documentation that held all of the genetic history of the clones was lost during a fire. Hence, the project became an Orphan (a product without the steps that it took to be built).

(Quote)

Leekie: Twenty years ago, there was a fire in one of our labs. Several scientists died, reams of data lost, and the original genome was destroyed.

Cosima: So all of this secrecy around the original genome is because it doesn't exist?

Leekie: Yes. The entire project is essentially an orphan. We lost your prehistory, Cosima, and, with it, all record of several synthetic sequences embedded in your DNA. Most of the Project Leda clones, such as Sarah, Alison, and Helena, are heterosexual. But Cosima is gay. Some fans are confused by this since all the clones share identical DNA. However, sexual orientation is not determined by simple genetics. This can be seen in the fact that identical twins, who share the exact same DNA, do not necessarily have the same sexual orientation. Instead, sexuality seems to be the result of complex "epigenetics" where certain genes are "switched" on or off during fetal development. While all the sisters share DNA, they were carried by different mothers and so would show subtle deviations. a5c7b9f00b Phantom of the Megaplex online freeCHIPS movie mp4 downloadApostasy in hindi download free in torrentMass Effect full movie in hindi free download hd 720pSkull dubbed hindi movie free download torrentWaterworld movie free download hdDeadliest Warrior in hindi downloadhindi Sicario: Day of the SoldadoDouble Dragon Neon song free downloadSniper Patrol in hindi free download
